3 Players Make a Comeback as Pakistan Names ODI Squad for South Africa

National Chief Selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq, after consultation with the captain Sarfraz Ahmed and head coach Mickey Arthur, has announced a 16-man squad for ODI series against South Africa.
Injured left-arm batsman Haris Sohail, left-arm bowler Junaid Khan and Asif Ali have been dropped from the squad.
In-form Shan Masood, Mohammad Amir and wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan will replace the trio in the squad, whereas Hussain Talat has been named in ODIs too after his consistent performances in T20s and in the domestic circuit.
Opening duo Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman will be accompanied by Shan Masood as the third opener.
With Sarfraz as a skipper and Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez as the senior players, the selectors have aimed to retain the former ODI squad with only minor changes.
The five-match ODI series will start in Port Elizabeth on 19 January.
